Beacons Drops Tight Sunday Contest with Judges

WALTHAM, MA (November 30, 2025) — The UMass Boston men's basketball team dropped a tightly contested non-conference road matchup to the Brandeis University Judges on Sunday afternoon.

The opening 20 minutes were evenly played, with both teams trading baskets throughout. The Judges built their largest lead of the half—seven points—at the midway mark following a three-pointer. Cameron Perkins (Danbury, Conn.) and Raphel Laurent (Peabody, Mass.) answered on back-to-back possessions in the final moments to keep the game close heading into the locker room.

UMass Boston remained competitive in the first half, shooting 15-of-27 from the field, including two three-pointers.

Perkins ignited the Beacons early in the second half with a quick burst to grab a slight lead. Brandeis responded with a sustained run that carried through the remainder of the half. The Judges pulled away over the final 10 minutes to secure the home victory, as the Beacons fell to 2–5 on the season.

Perkins led all scorers with 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting (66 percent), adding four rebounds and two steals. Laurent and Davon Sanders (Mansfield, Mass.) paced UMass Boston on the glass with five rebounds apiece. Sanders also served as the primary distributor, recording a team-high five assists to go along with 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting.

The Beacons return to action on Wednesday, December 3, hosting the University of Southern Maine in their Little East Conference opener at Clark Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
