Box Score Willimantic, CT (Oct. 18, 2025) – The UMass Boston women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Eastern Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon in a Little East Conference matchup on the road.
The Warriors struck early when Jordan Fabry sent a long ball into the box, regained possession, and tucked a shot into the right corner to open the scoring. Eastern Connecticut added a second goal in the 28th minute, which would prove to be the final tally of the match.
Junior goalkeeper Janiya Matier returned to action for the Beacons and recorded four first-half saves. UMass Boston matched Eastern Connecticut in shots on goal and created several promising chances but couldn't break through against goalkeeper Alex Ignatowicz. Amanda Regan, Alexis Williamson, Daniella Celotto, Andrea Rivera, and Sofia Schallmo all challenged the EastConn keeper.
Despite a slow start, the Beacons dominated possession in the second half, outshooting the Warriors 11-5 and holding them without a shot on goal in the final 45 minutes.
