Bridgewater, MA (Sep. 30, 2025) --- The UMass Boston women's tennis team suffered its first Little East Conference (LEC) loss in three years, falling 4-3 to Bridgewater State University in a hard-fought match.

The Beacons started strong, securing the lone team point from doubles play by winning two of the three matches:

Despite the early lead, the Beacons couldn't maintain momentum in singles:
- #1 Singles: Zainab Patel def. Emma Gibney, 6-1, 6-0
- #2 Singles: Sandra Watson lost to Aislyn Kelliher, 6-0, 6-2
- #3 Singles: Tatiana Malone lost to Morgan Smith, 7-5, 6-4
- #4 Singles: Althea Bradley def. Sarah Pothier, 7-5, 6-3
- #5 Singles: Shreya Saravana Rakshana lost to Ava Alves, 6-4, 6-0
- #6 Singles: Maya Rubenstein lost to Samantha Bettencourt, 6-0, 6-3
Although the Beacons showed grit and competitiveness throughout the match, they ultimately fell just short of the win.
