Boston, MA (Jan. 9, 2025) --- The UMass Boston Beacons men's ice hockey team returns to NEHC action when they travel to Northfield, Vermont to take on the Cadets of Norwich University Friday and Saturday. 

The Basics 

Game 1: Friday, January 10th at 7pm 

Game 2: Saturday, January 11th at 4pm 

Beacons: 5-8-0 (Overall), 3-5-0 (Conference) 

Cadets: 4-4-3 (Overall), 3-1-2 (Conference) 

Beacons 

• The Beacons are coming off a 5-2 loss in the championship game to the University of Wisconsin-Superior in their 59th Annual Codfish Bowl Tournament. To get to the championship game, the Beacons defeated UMass Dartmouth 5-2. In that game, Jazz Krivtsov scored his first hat trick of the season. 

• UMass Boston sits in 7th place in the NEHC rankings just behind Norwich University. 

• Krivtsov leads the team in goals (9), assists (8), and points (17). Sitting just behind Krivtsov in the stats is Jack Mortson who has 7 goals and 7 assists to make 14 points. 

• Tyler Bost has seen the majority of time in net and holds a 3.24 GAA and .904 save percentage 

Cadets 

• The Cadets are coming off a loss in the championship game of their NSB Holiday Tournament, falling to #12 Hamilton College 4-1 Saturday, January 4th. To get to the championship game, Norwich defeated Williams College 1-1 thanks to a shootout victory. 

• Norwich is currently sitting in 6th in the conference standings, just in front of UMass Boston. 

• Clark Kerner leads the team with goals (4) and points (7). 

• Both Cooper Bertrand and Holden Doggett have four helpers to lead the team. 

• Sami Molu has been the team's lone netminder holding a 1.69 GAA and .939% save percentage. 
   

Series History 

The Beacons split with the Cadets last season winning the most recent match 1-0. In that game Jakob Teply scored the game winner, assisted by Jude Kurtas and Krivtsov.
