Homa Scores First Career Goal in Loss to Cadets

Boston, MA (Jan. 31, 2025) --- First year forward Emerson Homa scored her first career goal, but a third period flurry by (RV) Norwich propelled the Cadets to a 5-1 victory over the Beacons Friday night.

How it Happened

The Beacons were nearly the first to strike when Adriana Crepaldi found herself with a loose puck in front of the net but was unable to direct it behind Madison Brunet. After a tripping call, the Cadets would find themselves on their first power play of the game, but the Beacons defense was up to the task; highlighted by two blocked shots by Margeaux Butters who would go on to make seven total blocks on the night, just one shy from her season high of eight.

The Cadets would score the first of the game early in the second period, but the Beacons would retake the momentum after Emerson Homa scored her first career goal assisted by Avery Brooks and Margeaux Butters. The Beacons would put pressure on the Cadets but weren't able to capitalize before Jenna Nikles of Norwich gave the visitors the lead, scoring the eventual game winning goal in the closing minutes of the second.

Inside the Box Score

  • Veronika Hadamovsky finished the night with 34 saves, highlighted by a stop on a breakaway chance in the second period.

  • The Beacons kept the Cadets 0/4 on the power play.

  • Margeaux Butters recorded her team-leading 5th assist of the season on Homa's first goal.
