Boston, MA (Jan. 22, 2025) --- The UMass Boston Beacons men's ice hockey team travels to Castleton, Vermont to play the Spartans of Vermont State University Castleton for two NEHC games.

Series History 

• The Spartans of Vermont State University Castleton won the last meeting against the Beacons 2 to 1 on January 12th, 2024, but the Beacons hold the historical advantage. The UMass Boston Beacons are 7-2-1 in the last 10 matchups with the Spartans and have outscored them 48-18 in those 10 meetings. The Beacons' largest margin of victory was 11-0 on January 8th, 2022 – in that game Kolye Bankauskas scored two for the Beacons. 

This Season 

• The Beacons are coming off of a weekend split to (RV) Elmira College and have played five different teams in the national rankings or receiving votes in the national rankings this year. 

• Jazz Krivtsov leads the team in goals (9), assists (9) and points (18) through 16 games played. 

• Jack Mortson sits right behind Krivtsov and holds the higher shot percentage at .179% with 7 goals, 8 assists, and 15 points on 39 shots. 

• Four different players have scored a shorthanded goal for the Beacons (Krivtsov, Mortson, Bankauskas, Michael Lynch) and five have scored on the power play (Krivstov, Mortson, Jude Kurtas, Kevin Sadovski, Zander Lazotte). 

• Defensively, Jacob Kaminski leads the team with blocked shots with 31 with Sadovski just three behind him with 28 on the season. 

• In goal, Tyler Bost has a .913 save percentage
