The most significant win of the season for UMass Boston was against Curry College on November 25, when the Beacons put up a season-high 101 points while keeping the Colonels to 72 for a 29-point victory on the road. As a team, the Beacons are scoring 77.1 points per game and average 37.5 rebounds, 12.7 assists, 9.6 steals, and 3.7 blocks per game. First-year guard Raphel Laurent (Peabody, Mass.) continues to flourish in his role as a rookie. Laurent is averaging 11.1 PPG (19.4 in the previous five games), 4.3 rebounds, and 1.8 combined blocks and steals per game. In his previous five games, Laurent recorded one or more steals and forced eight total in that stretch. He was recently selected as LEC Rookie of the Week, his second of the season, for his performances during the week of January 14-20. Graduate forward Mark Barrett (Brookline, Mass.) leads the Beacons' effort on the glass with 93 total rebounds in 15 games, averaging 6.2 a night, suitable for a team-high.
