Box Score Elmira, NY (Jan. 17, 2025) --- First year defender, Erin Duffy scored two for the Beacons, but they weren't enough for the win as the Beacons fell to the Soaring Eagles of Elmira College by a score of 5-2 Friday night.
How it Happened
Veronika Hadamovsky and the Beacons were able to keep it a one goal game going into the second period, but the Soaring Eagles of Elmira College – who are receiving votes in the national rankings – pulled away in the second, increasing their lead to 4. The Beacons mounted a comeback in the third period thanks to two goals by freshman defender Erin Duffy, her first coming on the power play assisted by Emily Hansen and Jenna Fitzsimons. Five minutes later, Duffy scored her third goal of the season and of her career unassisted. The Beacons outscored the Soaring Eagles by a score of 2-1 in the third period with all three goals coming off of power plays.
