Boston, MA --- After starting their season on the road, the Beacons come home to the Clark Athletics Center Friday and Saturday to host the UMB Volleyball Tournament. Roger Williams University, Trinity, Bridgewater State, and UMass Boston will all compete during the two-day tournament. Â
Roger Williams University – 9/6 @ 5pmÂ
The Beacons kick off the tournament and Family Weekend Friday at 5pm vs the Hawks. UMass Boston and Roger Williams are evenly matched in their last 10 meetings, splitting 5-5; however, the Beacons have seen more success as of late winning the last two games vs the Hawks – 3 sets to 1 in 2023 and 3 sets to 2 in 2022.Â
The Hawks enter Friday with a perfect record having only dropped 2 total sets in 3 games. Ava Mattiucci recorded her 1,000th career assist in their last game vs the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales.Â
Bridgewater State University – 9/7 @ 12pmÂ
The Beacons begin day two of the tournament taking on the Bears of Bridgewater State University. Going into the weekend, the Bears have only played 1 game, a victory over Anna Maria 3 sets to 0.Â
Trinity College (Conn.) - 9/7 @ 6pmÂ
UMass Boston caps off the tournament against Trinity College at 6pm. Similarly to RWU, UMB and Trinity have split their last 10 meetings evenly down the middle. Their last meeting came in 2019 where Trinity defeated UMass Boston 3-0. The Beacons' last win against the Bantams came in 2016.Â
