Boston, MA (Sep. 26, 2024) --- The Beacons of UMass Boston will be traveling to Plymouth, New Hampshire on Saturday, September 28th to take on LEC opponent Plymouth State University, the first serve scheduled for 12pm. 

This will be the first Little East Conference game this season for both teams. In the LEC Coaches Preseason Poll, the Panthers of Plymouth State were picked to finish 2nd with 4 first place votes totaling 60 points while the Beacons were picked to finish 4th out of 9 teams with 43 points.

Beacons 

• The Beacons have competed against two top 10 opponents (NYU and MIT). 

• Paige Coulson is leading the team in points with 116, Addie Blomgren leads in blocks with 19, Ruby Ackerman leads in assists with 155, Mary Matthews leads in digs with 175, and Toni Guerra leads in service aces with 22. Senior Dylan Wertzberger leads in kills per set averaging 3.14. 

• The Beacons are 2-2 in matches that go to 5 sets this season. 

Panthers 

• The Panthers lead the conference in several categories: Nora Ryan leads hitting percentage hitting .415%, Aynslee King leads in blocks a set with 1.05 and as a team they lead in overall team hitting percentage (.216%), as well as opponent hitting percentage (.068%). 

• Their lone loss this season came in their last match versus Brandeis where they fell 3-0. 

• The Panthers have only had one game go to 5 sets, when they traveled to St. Michael's in Colchester, Vermont on September 7th. 

• Nora Ryan leads the team in kills with 112, points per set with 3.51, and kills a set with 2.80. Nora Ryan also leads the Panthers in service errors with 15. 

• Danielle Emerson leads the Panthers in service aces with 25 on the year and assists with 192.
