Beacons Travel to Bridgewater

Boston, MA (Sep. 16, 2024) --- The Beacons of UMass Boston will head down the road to Bridgwater to take on the Bears of Bridgewater State tonight at 7pm. 

Beacons 

The Beacons are coming off a 3-1 victory over the Engineers of MIT on Saturday. In that game, three different players found the back of the net with Diego Gisholt collecting the game winner. Andy Ramirez made two saves in net. 

Bears 

The Bears are coming into tonight's contest with a 1-2-1 overall record having most recently dropped their last contest to Brandeis on Tuesday. Second year player Hector Bucio has found the net twice for the Bears, most recently against Wentworth to give his team the 1-1 draw. 

Inside the Series 

The Beacons and Bears have been familiar opponents playing every year since 2012. In that time, the Beacons are 5-6, and 3-2 over the last five meetings. The most recent meeting came in 2023 when the Bears secured the 3-2 victory. In that game, the Beacons were up 2-0 early thanks to goals by John Arruda and Gabriel Meireles but were unable to finish the game with the victory. All goals scored by Bridgewater came within 4 minutes of each other. Thomas Terry scored at the 76', Nicolas Matias at 79:11 and David Nelson had the game winner at 79:59.
