BOSTON, MA (September 10, 2024) – The Beacons' women's soccer team will travel to Wellesley, Massachusetts on Wednesday, September 11 for a non-conference matchup against the Wellesley College Blues.
Previously
The Beacons and the Blues have only kicked off twice in the programs' histories. The Blues have taken both matchups on their field, by a 1-2 margin in September 2010 and by a 1-0 victory in 2018. The only Beacon to score against Wellesley College in program history is Ally Modzelewski (Graduated in 2013).
This Season
Early on, the Beacons started their season undefeated 2-0-1, with victories against Coast Guard (0-3) and Smith College (0-4). Goals have come from a variety of contributors, including returners such as senior
Georgia Bonney (Kingston, Mass.), junior
Andrea Rivera (San Juan, P.R), and graduate
Caileigh Sullivan (Marshfield, Mass.). First-year
Kathryn Brown (Somers, Conn.) has also found twine early in the home opener against Smith College.
The Wellesley College Blues have opened their season 2-1, with a 3-1 road win against Simmons University, followed by a 1-0 shutout against State University of New York (SUNY) Delhi. Their sole loss this early in the season came at the hands of the Endicott Gulls in a 2-0 road loss for the Blues. The Blues' primary contributor has been first-year standout forward number two Isabella Tolosa, who tallied a goal and two assists vs Simmons and another assist against SUNY Delhi.
