The Beacons got the bats going quickly with two early runs in the top of the first led by Senior Aidan Blake knocked in the first run with an RBI double to right-center field. Freshman Elliot Miles tacked on another run with an RBI of his own to give UMass Boston the early 2-0 lead. Graduate Max Moss would keep the momentum going, making quick work of the first six batters he faced.
The Pioneers would find an answer for one of the runs in the Bottom of the third off an RBI groundout from Gavin Mangano to cut the Beacons' lead to two. Both teams were in a stalemate with the game locked in at 3-1, until the top of the eighth when freshman Brandon Gaer would bring home senior Bostyn Burris to take a 4-1.
UMass Boston was not done yet, adding six more runs in the top of the ninth. Miles would start things with an RBI. Walks by junior Mariano Jimenez and Gaer would bring in two more runs, expanding the lead to 7-1. Sophomore Max Garner would keep things rolling for the UMass Boston, taking the first pitch he saw for an RBI single up the third base line to bring home Burris. Freshman Angelo Centrone would follow up Garner with an RBI single that was roped down the right field line, notching the score at 10-1.
Moss would go on to strike out three batters and limit the Pioneers to one run in his six innings of work. The Beacons' bullpen made up of sophomore Ethan Hunt, senior Logan Lawrence, and sophomore Josh Garner would hold Lewis and Clark to their one run and allowed only one hit in their three total innings of work.
