Boston, MA (Nov. 7, 2024) --- The UMass Boston Beacons fell to the Wolves onf Western Connecticut State 2-1 in their LEC Semi-Finals match Thursday night. 
 

How it Happened 

The Wolves got the scoring started quickly after a cross into the box by Suzana Imetovski pinballed around a number of players before last touched by Hannah Blacher and into the back of the net just under 90 seconds into the game. The Beacons would find the equalizer just before the 20-minute mark. The Beacons held possession and were able to connect passes between Devan Booth and Daniella Celotto before the ball made it's way to Kathryn Brown who calmly deposited the ball into the back of the net for her 6th goal of the season. The teams would enter halftime tied at 1. Isabella O'Connell made her presence known coming up big in the second half, shutting down three incredible chances – one of which a breakaway. O'Connell would end the night with 11 total saves. Westconn would score the game winning goal thanks to a perfectly placed free kick by Sophia Onek in the 73rd minute.
