NEHC Names Three Beacons to Weekly Honors

MARSHFIELD, MA (November 25, 2024) – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced the Athletes of the Week for week five of the season. Following a 2-0 weekend for both men's and women's hockey, the UMass Boston Beacons name three to the weekly honor roll, including two on the men's team and one on the women's team.

Graduate goalie Tyler Bost (Mahwah, N.J.) earns this week's NEHC Goalie of the Week for going 2-0 against the New England College Pilgrims this prior weekend. Bost thwarted away 31 of the 33 shots he faced on Friday en route to a 4-2 victory, then followed it up with a 31-save shutout in a 3-0 win on Saturday, his first shutout as a member of the Beacons.

On the women's side, first-year netminder Veronika Hadamovsky (Groton, Mass.) earned an honorable mention for Friday's performance against the Spartans of Vermont State University Castleton. In her stellar performance, she stopped 31 of 33 shots and finished with a .931 save percentage to remain unbeaten in the NEHC.

Lastly, junior assistant captain Jazz Krivtsov (Santa Clarita, Calif.) earned an honorable mention for tallying three points on two game-winning goals and an assist against the Pilgrims. On Friday, he was the primary assistant on captain Koyle Bankauskas' (Coventry, R.I.) goal in the second period, the Beacons' second of the game, and scored the third goal in the third period. On Saturday, he scored the opener to break the 0-0 stalemate. After the weekend, Krivstov was +6 on 10 shots on goal.

The Beacons are back in action this weekend, with the men hitting the road against Colby College in Waterville, Maine, on Friday at 4:00 p.m., followed by Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. The women's team will host the 17th annual Women's Codfish Bowl this Saturday-Sunday (Nov. 30 – Dec. 1), with the opening game seeing the Beacons faceoff against Manhattanville University at 1:00 p.m., followed by Saint Olaf University facing off against Amherst College at 4:00 p.m. The consolation and championship games will drop the puck at 1:00 p.m and 4:00 p.m. respectively on Sunday, December 1.
