Boston, MA (Nov. 20, 2024) --- The UMass Boston Beacons men's ice hockey team hosts New England College for two games at the Edward T. Barry Ice Rink. The first game will be played on Friday, November 22nd at 7pm and the second game will be played on Saturday, November 23rd at 4pm.

The Beacons 

• All the Beacons opponents so far this season have been ranked in the top #15 national rankings with Hobart being #1, Curry College being #6, and Salve Regina being #14. 

• Jack Mortson leads the Beacons in points with 5 so far this season – 2 goals, 3 assists. 

• 6 different Beacons have found the back of the net with Mortson and Jazz Krivtsov scoring twice. 

• Sal Carabelli, Tyler Bost, and Antonio Tarantino have all seen action in the cage for the Beacons with Bost starting 4 of the Beacons 5 games. 

Pilgrims 

• The Pilgrims are coming off a 2-0 win over Norwich University on November 16th.  

• David Novotny leads the team in points with 4 – 2 goals, 2 assists. 

• Three players have scored for the Pilgrims - Novotny and Paul Waldhauser having two goals each this season. 

• Danny Miscavish, Xavier Lapierre, and Anthony Beaulieu have all seen time and gotten starts in net with Beaulieu having 2 starts and compiling a .985 save percentage 

History 

• The Beacons have won the last 6 meetings against the Pilgrims of NEC with the most recent game taking place January 19, 2024, seeing UMass Boston winning 5-3. In that game five different Beacons scored. 

• The last time the Beacons lost to New England College was in the 2019-20 season.
