BOSTON, MA (October 28. 2024) – The UMass Boston men's soccer team will host the Fitchburg State Falcons on Tuesday, October 29, at 12:00 p.m. afternoon, in a non-conference matchup. Prior to kickoff, the Beacons will honor its graduating seniors for the class of 2024-25.

- Historically, the Beacons are 17-15-4 against the Falcons, with the most recent victory coming over a decade ago in 2014, when the Beacs won 2-1 in Fitchburg. Last meeting saw the Falcons pull one over the Beacons in a 3-2 dogfight. At home vs the Falcons, the Beacons are 9-5-3 all time. The Beacons average 1.92 goals per game against the Falcons and are 5-4-1 in their previous ten.
This Season
- UMass Boston heads into the matchup with an 8-1-5 (5-0-2 Little East Conference) record and average of 1.86 goals (26 total) per game on an average of 15.1 shots per game compared to opponents' 0.64 (nine total) goals per game on 9.8 shots per game. First-year forward Eduardo Chirico (Minas Gerias, Bra.) currently leads all UMass Boston goal-scorers with five goals and three assists this year for a total of 13 season points. Also, with 13 season points, senior wing-back Logan Erickson-Potter has tallied four goals and five assists. Sophomore midfielder Patrick Garcia has also scored four goals this season. Graduate goalkeeper Andy Ramirez (Waltham, Mass.) continues to be a wall between the posts for the Beacons. For almost the entire month of October (10/05/24-10/28/24), Ramirez has recorded five consecutive shutouts against Keene State, the University of Southern Maine, Western Connecticut State, Worcester State, and Vermont State University Castleton. He currently leads the LEC in save percentage (0.864%) and goals-against-average (0.61%). Against 67 shots, Ramirez has recorded 38 saves and allowed six goals to go 7-0-3 this season between the posts.
- The Falcons are 8-6-2 (3-2-1 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, MASCAC) this season and average 1.31 goals per game on an average of 15.1 shots per game compared to opponents' 1.56 goals per game. Their most recent matchup against Nichols saw a 2-1 victory for the Falcons. The Falcons have two players who have tallied five goals this season, first-year midfielder Justin Jobs (Worcester, Mass.) and sophomore forward Anthony Oliveira-Dalicandro (Waltham, Mass.). Junior midfielder Liam Evans (Marshfield, Mass.) leads the team in assists with four. The primary goalkeeping option for the Falcons is sophomore Alexander Carvalho (North Providence, R.I.), who is 3-2-1 in seven games played. In 615 minutes of action, he has recorded 21 saves (.700% SV%) and allowed nine goals (1.32 GAA).
