Keene, NH (Oct. 19, 2024) --- UMass Boston rallied from behind to get a crucial LEC win over Keene State Saturday in Spaulding Gymnasium. 
 

The Basics 

• UMass Boston: 11-8 (Overall), 2-2 (LEC) 

• Keene State: 9-13 (Overall), 1-4 (LEC) 

How it Happened 

The Beacons got the better of the Owls in set 1, winning 25-23 but dropped the next two sets by the score of 23-25 and 22-25. In a must win set 4 situation to continue the game, the Beacons came out inspired putting the Owls away 25-11. In a winner take all set 5, the Beacons were the first to 15 and collecting their 2nd LEC win of the season. 

Inside the Box Score 

• Mya Perron led the Beacons in kills and points with 16. 

• Dylan Wertzberger registered 15 points off of 11 kills, 3 service aces, and 2 block assists. Wertzberger also collected 11 digs on the defensive end. 

• First year Addie Blomgren had a new career high in blocks in the match with 7, 3 of which were solo blocks. The Beacons had 13 blocks in the game compared to 6 for the Owls. 

• As a team, UMass Boston scored 13 points off service aces, nearly double the amount Keene State had on the day.
