Boston, MA (Oct. 18, 2024) --- The UMass Boston volleyball team heads to Keene, New Hampshire to take on Keene State in Little East Conference action Saturday, October 17th first serve set for 1pm. 

The Basics 

Beacons: 10-8 (Overall), 1-2 (Conference) 

Owls: 9-12 (Overall), 1-3 (Conference) 

Beacons 

• The Beacons are coming off a hard-fought game vs University Athletic Association school, Brandeis College on Wednesday, ultimately falling 3 sets to 1. 

• Three Beacons have surpassed 100 kills so far this season. Mya Perron leads with 130 followed by Paige Coulson with 122 and Lauren Westlund is right behind with 121. 

• Dylan Wertzberger leads the team in points per set with 3.53 and is only 2 kills away from 100. 

• Addie Blomgren and Mikayla Cleary are neck and neck for the team lead in blocks with 26 and 25 respectively. 

• Mary Matthews is third in the Little East Conference in digs averaging 4.39 a set. 

• Toni Guerra sits in the top 10 of the league in service aces averaging .49 a set, good for 9th. 

Owls 

• Keene State is coming off their 9th win of the season, a 3-0 victory over Curry College on the road Wednesday night. 

• In their four conference games, the Owls have managed their lone win over Vermont State Castleton 3-1. They have fallen to Western Connecticut (0-3), Eastern Connecticut (1-3), and UMass Dartmouth (0-3). 

• Three Owls have surpassed 100 kills, Marina Miller (180), Molly Wetherbee (149), and Gigi Stake (123). 

• Keene State has three players with over 30 service aces, Alexis Small (38), Grace Christian (35), and Delia Ryan (30). 

• Defensively, Annaliese Rudberg has been a wall at the net collecting 41 blocks, 34 of which assists and 7 solo. 

History 

• The last time the Beacons and Owls faced off, the Beacons came away with the win 3 sets to 0, not allowing the Owls to score more than 16 in a set.
