CORTLAND, N.Y. - UMass Boston Women's Soccer suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of nationally-ranked SUNY Cortland on Friday afternoon. The 4-1 loss kicked off a pair of matches at the SUNY Cortland Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening game of the SUNY Cortland Tournament saw a quick start from the Beacons. After scoring her first career goal earlier in the week,
Andrea Rivera found her second in the 21st minute. The opening goal came courtesy of an assist from
Caileigh Sullivan.
The Beacons' lead was short-lived, however, as the 31st minute saw the equalizer from the foot of Cortland's Katie Cosenza.
UMass Boston's Isabella O'connell, who finished the afternoon with six saves in net, held the Red Dragons at bay for over 30 minutes, keeping the score tied at 1-1 into the 63rd minutes.
The final 27 minutes of the match saw an offensive barrage from Cortland, breaking the tie and eventually stretching their lead to 4-1.
