BOSTON, Mass. - UMass Boston Volleyball dropped their non-conference matchup with cross-town rival Emerson College on Tuesday night by a final tally of 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beacons jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first set courtesy of kills from
Amelia Devlin,
Dylan Wertzberger, and
Paige Coulson. The two squads continued to trade blows until a sustained run from Emerson turned a 6-4 UMass Boston lead into a 20-7 Emerson advantage, putting the set out of reach.
In the second set, the Lions and Beacons traded haymakers, with the Beacons fighting to cut the Emerson lead to 22-19 behind kills from
Taryn Broughal and
Mya Perron and a service ace from
Toni Guerra. Ultimately, Emerson closed out the set 25-19.
The Beacons once again showed fight in the third set, cutting the Emerson lead to 15-13 before the Lions finished off the set and the match with a 25-19 victory.
