HOW IT HAPPENED
Neither offense wasted anytime getting things started on Saturday afternoon in Providence. A Rhode Island College goal in the sixth minute had the Anchorwomen in the lead for all of three minutes. Before the tenth full minute was run off the clock
Sarah Kelley took a pass from
Kaylee Haynes to the net, scoring her first of the season and knotting the game at one all.
After an eventful opening, both goalies locked things down, holding both offenses scoreless for over 60 minutes of game time.
The defensive stalemate was finally broken in the 70th minute when UMass Boston's Caleigh Sullivan capitalized on Haynes' second assist of the day. The Beacons first lead of the day would be the only one they would need as
Julia Cote held strong in net to secure the 2-1 road victory.
