BOSTON, Mass. – On a cold, windy day at the harbor campus, UMass Boston Baseball's bats came out in full force against Framingham State University at Monan Park, manufacturing a 13-hit performance en route to their dominant 7-1 win over the Rams on Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A scoreless first inning gave way to UMass Boston taking the lead in the second after back-to-back singles from senior infielders
Aidan Blake and Gianni Zarrilli Jr. made way for senior first baseman
Nick Palma's RBI single to right field which put the Beacons ahead 1-0 after two.
A three-run third inning extended the Beacon lead to four runs after a misplayed fly ball in right field resulted in a leadoff triple for freshman outfielder
Joey Morrison. Morrison would score on a fielder's choice by junior outfielder
Luke Leavitt and following a walk to sophomore outfielder
Mariano Jimenez, senior infielder
Drew Metzdorf's two-RBI double down the right field line plated two more runs for UMass Boston.
The Beacon offense would continue to roll into the next inning with a leadoff double by freshman outfielder
Breon Parker followed by a Morrison single making it 5-0. Morrison would score later on in the inning on a line drive single from Metzdorf which made it six consecutive runs for UMass Boston over the course of three innings.
Zarrilli Jr's one-out double with Blake on first base would score the seventh and final run of the afternoon for the Beacons who earned their second win of the season, 7-1, over Framingham State University who scratched a run across the plate in the ninth inning on an RBI single by sophomore outfielder Lucas Basile.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore pitcher Ross Dexter earned his first win of the season going five strong innings, allowing no runs on threes hits while striking out five and walking two
- Taking the loss was junior pitcher Scott Nosky who lasted three innings, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out and walking one
- Drew Metzdorf led the offense with a 2-for-5 day, driving in three RBIs and recording a double
- Aidan Blake finished 4-for-4 on the afternoon, notching four singles and scoring twice
- Head Coach Brendan Egyabroat earned his 396th career win, moving within four wins of the 400 career mark

UMass Boston closes their three-game homestand before heading to Florida for spring break, tomorrow afternoon at Monan Park at 2:30 PM against New England College in a game that was rescheduled from last Tuesday afternoon due to inclement weather.
