AUBURNDALE, Fla. – An up and down Florida trip ended on a high note for UMass Boston Baseball on Friday afternoon, closing out the eight-game stretch with a dominant win over FDU-Florham, 10-7, to give Head Coach Brendan Egyabroat his 400
th career win as the Beacons head back to Boston, Massachusetts for the rest of their regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A leadoff triple in the second inning for senior infielder
Gianni Zarrilli Jr. helped UMass Boston score their first run of the game as a passed ball committed by senior catcher Chris Kubas with junior outfielder
Luke Leavitt at the plate made it 1-0 UMass Boston. Two more runs would come across the plate for the Beacons in the third inning after a one-out single from senior infielder
Drew Metzdorf led to a triple from senior infielder
Aidan Blake for the first run of the inning.
Senior first baseman
Nick Palma would hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Blake from third to give the Beacons a 3-0 edge a third of the way through play. Senior pitcher
Dillon Ryan used that run support to his advantage, throwing five scoreless innings for UMass Boston on just 69 pitches in which he gave up two hits while striking out seven and walking one.
Errors would be used to the Beacons' advantage in the sixth inning as a leadoff triple from freshman outfielder
Justin Gouveia eventually led to him scoring on a fielder's choice by freshman outfielder
Joey Morrison. Metzdorf would get on base via a single and Morrison would come around to score on an error by freshman outfielder Zach Ganca, making it 5-0 UMass Boston.
A single with an error allowed Metzdorf to score on the hit by Blake and the senior infielder would end up coming around to score later on in the inning on a throwing error by Kubas to put the Beacons ahead 7-0 after six innings.
Following a sacrifice fly from the Devils in the top of the seventh, UMass Boston struck for three more runs via an RBI single from freshman outfielder
Breon Parker, a balk by junior pitcher Ben Cohen, and a wild pitch from freshman pitcher Robbie Hughes to bring the Beacons within one run of the 10-run mercy rule before FDU-Florham would escape the jam.
The Devils would score six runs in the eighth inning via two walks, a sacrifice fly, and two singles to pull within three runs, but freshman pitcher
Owen Ackerman would escape the inning and freshman pitcher
Josh Garner would close the affair with the ninth for his first save of the season as UMass Boston left Florida with a 10-7 victory.
