BOSTON, Mass. -- Coming off a career season for UMass Boston Men's Basketball, senior forward Malik Lorquet has been named as one of the sixteen participants in the 2023 State Farm Dark Horse Dunker Fan Vote Contest. The 6-foot, 5-inch forward finished the season with 22 double doubles, which at the moment leads all of NCAA Division III, and a myriad of highlight reel worthy dunks during his breakout season. 

The contest takes 16 of the nation's top under-the-radar players from all levels of college basketball in a four-week social media voting competition in which the winner will have the opportunity to compete in the King's Hawaiian College Slam Dunk Championship on March 30th in Houston, Texas.

Fans determine the winner of each round by voting on @CollegeSlam on Twitter and @College_Slam on Instagram in a bracket-style competition. Lorquet is one of just five Division III athletes in the fan vote competition which begins today at 1:00 PM EST.

The schedule for each round of voting is as follows: 

• Round One: Feb. 27 at Noon CT (1 PM EST) through March 3 at Noon CT (1 PM EST) (16 Players)
• Quarterfinals: March 6 at Noon CT (1 PM EST) through March 10 at Noon CT (1 PM EST) (8 Players)
• Semifinals: March 13 at Noon CT (1 PM EST) through March 17 at Noon CT (1 PM EST) (4 Players)
• Finals: March 20 at Noon CT (1 PM EST) through March 24 at Noon CT (1 PM EST) (2 Players)

The player with the most votes in the final round will be selected to participate in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championship which will air live on ESPN2 during college championship weekend in Houston at 6:30 PM CT (7:30 EST) on March 30th.
