HOW IT HAPPENED
The Soaring Eagles wasted no time showing the Beacons why they've earned the number seven spot in the USCHO Division III weekly ranking. Elmira's Nicholas Domitrovic found the back of the net just 48 seconds into the opening period to open up a 1-0 lead.
Though it did not come nearly as quickly as their opponents', the Beacons' opening score evened the game at one goal apiece before the first intermission.
Kevin Sadovski took assists from
Corey Clifton and
Jack Mortson to score his fourth goal of the year.
A shorthanded goal for Elmira in the opening minutes of the second period set the tone for the rest of the game. The Soaring Eagles racked up five goals in the second frame and another in the third to hand UMass Boston the 7-1 loss.
