Men's Soccer Rolls Over Plymouth State In Conference Play

Beacons scored four second-half goals on their way to a 5-0 LEC win



BOSTON, Mass. – Four second-half goals lift men's soccer to their second straight conference and fourth overall victory as they cruised past Plymouth State University with a 5-0 decision Saturday afternoon at Monan Soccer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Beacons five goals marked the most scored by UMB in a single game so far this season. Five different players scored in the one-sided victory, with two earning their first goals of the young campaign.

UMass Boston dominated the offensive third for nearly all 90 minutes as they outshot the Panthers 23-11, with 14 of those shots coming in the final 45 minutes of play.

Nick Braganca got the Beacons on the scoreboard in the 24th minute when he drove home a rifle of a shot off a Cristian Suvak throw-in.

After the break, Elijah Elliott give the Beacons some breathing room as he made it 2-0 in the 52nd minute. The Beacons would then score their final three goals over a 15-minute span, with Annilson DePina, Dylan Kelley, and Isaiah Stessman each finding the back of the net.

Qasim El-Ashkar registered his first clean sheet of the season after making three stops.
