Baseball Downs Salve Regina To Win Third Straight

Craig Corliss hit a three-run homer as part of a six-run first inning

NEWPORT, R.I. – Craig Corliss hit a three-run home to help left baseball to a 14-9 seven-inning win over Salve Regina University Wednesday afternoon at Reynolds Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Corliss' three-run shot helped the Beacons t6-0 advantage in the top of the first inning. Salve Regin did respond with five-runs in the bottom half of the same inning. After a scoreless second, the Beacons plated two more runs in the third, before adding six more runs over the final three innings the game was called due to darkness.

Ross Dexter collected his first win of the year after one inning of relief. He struck out one and allowed just one hit in the decisive inning.

Steve Brookwell had another strong day at the plate going 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Ethan Errera drove in three runs on two hits to help pace the Beacons offense.
