Beacons close out their trip with a 12-5 win

AUSTIN, Texas – A 3-for-4 day from Drew Metzdorf lifted baseball to a 12-5 win over Concordia University (TX) in the series final Saturday afternoon at Tornado Field.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

Metzdorf's day included a bases clearing triple in the top of the second inning to make it a 6-4 ball game. That hit along with an error by the Tornadoes would spark a 10 unaswered runs by the Beacons over the next four frames.

Jackson Snider picked-up his second win of the year after going four complete innings. He struck out three and allowed just two hits no Concordia walks.

Luke Leavitt and Ethan Errera both put-up a pair of hits, while Craig Corliss drove in four runs.

  • The Beacons closed out their four-game series with a 3-1 record in the first-ever meetings with the Tornadoes
  • UMB put-up 12 hits and were walked four times
  • Beacons pitchers combined for eight strikeouts, and allowed only three earned runs
