After going into the first intermission down 1-0, UMass Boston scored four goals in the second and tacked on two more in the third.Ā

Katie Leffler (Key Largo, Fla.),
Jane Ann Drill (Madison, Wisc.) and
Kelsey Ryan (Burlington, Mass.). The Beacons Class of 2022 captured their third season with 12 wins and at least a .500 regular season.Ā

Katie Wilbert (Pittsburgh, Pa.) paced the Beacons offense with a pair of goals and an assist.
Gabby Shontz (Reading, Vt.) added a goal and an assist and Ryan chipped in with two assists.Ā

Cailey Kozich (Wexford, Pa.),
Rachael Burum (Marshfield, Mass.) and
Liz Kramp (Farmington Hills, Mich.) also scored in the victory.Ā

In net, sophomore goalie
Victoria Kennedy (Winthrop, Mass.) made 27 saves on 28 shots to earn her 12
thwin of the year. The sophomore stopped the final 27 shots she faced, including making 10 saves in the first and second period.Ā

Georgia McLellan scored the lone goal for the Panthers who dropped their fourth game in five contests.Ā

Former Beacon Olivia Petito made 27 saves on 33 shots to fall to 2-10-1 on the season.Ā

Plymouth State took the lead 7:03 into the contest when McLellan took a high shot from the far circle that deflected on the way in.Ā

UMass Boston totally turned the game around in the second period. The Beacons outshot the Panthers 18-10, earned a 14-7 edge in face-offs and outscored the Panthers 4-0.Ā

Wilbert tied the game at 1-1 with a wraparound goal. The sophomore collected the puck at the near post, evaded the referee behind the net and slipped the puck inside the near post for a 1-1 tie at 5:40.Ā
UMass Boston took the lead for good at 7:26. Ryan skated the puck into the zone and found Kozich in the slot and her shot slipped through Petito's five-hole for a 2-1 edge.Ā

The Beacons extended their advantage to 4-1 by the end of the period thanks to a pair of power-play goals. Burum tipped home an
Addie Budington shot at 11:24 and Kramp collected a Shontz rebound and flipped a backhand shot past Petito at 17:02.Ā

UMass Boston made it 5-1 at at 9:15, when Shontz ripped a shot from the blue line that hit the underside of the crossbar and went in.Ā

The Beacons closed out the scoring at 15:35, when Ryan sent a centering feed to Wilbert for a one-time goal.Ā
