Volleyball Bows Out Of Little East Conference Tournament

Beacons drop 3-1 decision at Keene State in LEC Semi-Final Round

Box Score KEENE, N.H. – The 2022 Beacons volleyball season came to a close as the second-seeded Owls of Keene State College downed UMB by the final of 3-1 Thursday evening in Spaulding Gymnasium in the semi-final round of the Little East Conference Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
With Thursday's win the Owls advance to Saturday's Little East Conference championship match.
 
Looking to pull-off the second straight upset, the Beacons faced a tough-test with the Owls. Keene State took a 1-0 advantage following a 25-20 decision. UMB rallied and tied the match after posting a 25-21 victory.
 
Unfortunately, that momentum could not carry over into the next two frames, as Keene State earned a 25-14 and a 25-19 victory to secure the spot in Saturday's title match.
 
Livia Trindade led the Beacons with 11 kills, but was charged with 10 errors. A trio of Beacons registered eight put-downs including seniors McKayla Geraghty and Taryn Broughal. Dylan Wertzberger also had eight kills.
 
Amelia Devlin led the hitters with a .500 hitting percentage, and posted six kills on 12 attempts. She also put-up 32 assists to cap-off a solid freshman season.
 
Ally Dean and Toni Guerra combined for 29 digs respectively to lead the Beacons defensive effort.
