NEWPORT, R.I. – A double-double from senior big-man
Malik Lorquet lifted men's basketball to a 72-59 non-conference win over Salve Regina University Tuesday evening at the Rodgers Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lorquet's big night consisted of 19 points and 11 rebounds, as the senior went 7-for-11 from the field and 5-for-6 at the line.
The Sharon native was one of four Beacons to finish in double-figures, with
Tommy Burris finishing with 15 points. Emanuel Zayas and Xavier McKenzie combined for 24 points respectively.
From the opening jump, the Beacons controlled the lead and the momentum of Tuesday's contest. UMB held off a late first half surge by Salve Regina, before regaining their composure in the second half to earn their first win of the 2022-23 season.
Mikey Spencer led the Seahawks with 17 points, and was the lone Salve Regina player to record double-digits.
