Mammoths Stomp Past Volleyball

Amherst hands Beacons a 3-0 non-conference loss

AMHERST, Mass. – It was a tough night offensively for the Beacons as Amherst College handed volleyball a 3-0 non-conference loss Tuesday evening at La Frak Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
The Beacons played an extremely tough first set against the Mammoths. Amherst managed to go on a run at the midway point of the opening frame. They would then seal the 25-17 victory. From there, Amherst rolled past the Beacons earning a 25-11 win in the second and a 25-8 win in the third.
 
Taryn Brouhgal and Dylan Wertzberger each registered five kills, while Amelia Devlin put-up 18 assists.
 
Ally Dean notched 14 digs to lead the Beacons back row.
 
Charlotte Rasmussen was the lone player to record double-digits in kills, as she scored 12, while also hitting .500 on the night.
 
At the net the Mammoths were solid all night totaling on block solo and an impressive 14 block assists.
