BOSTON, Mass. – In their first match since the 2019 campaign, volleyball dropped a tough 3-0 non-conference match to crosstown rival Emerson College Wednesday evening at Brown and Plofker Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
All three sets were extremely tight, as the two teams combined for 11 lead changes and 18 ties respectively.
Emerson edged the Beacons 25-17 in the first set behind seven team kills. The Beacons nearly earned their first win of the young season but, the Lions slipped past to earn a 25-23 decision. The final set saw Emerson take a 25-17 victory to seal the 3-0 decision.
Aleks Qose (Athens, Greece) led the match with 10 kills, and 11 digs to earn her first double-double of 2021. Senior
Marcelle Tiscareno (El Paso, Texas) registered eight kills, a match-high 429 hitting percentage, and had three blocks to her line.
Carsen Komminsk (Worthington, Ohio) led the contest with 23 assists to start her senior season.
BY THE NUMBERS

WHO'S NEXT
The Beacons will travel to Kean University (NJ) on Saturday for a tri-match. First match is scheduled for 12 p.m. Their second match will be at 2 p.m. against Swarthmore College.
