MANSFIELD, Conn. – The 2021 edition of Beacons baseball saw their season come to a close as they were handed a 10-1 loss by the fourth-seed UMass Dartmouth Corsairs in an elimination game in the Little East Conference Tournament Saturday afternoon at ECSU Baseball Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beacons scored their lone run in the bottom of the second inning on a sac-fly by
Thomas Cue, which at the time tied the score at 1-1. The Corsairs then scored nine unanswered to advance in the ECSU pod of the conference tournament.
UMass Boston was held to a season-low two hits, while the Corsairs tacked on 12.
Tim Cianciolo (New Milford, Conn.) was handed the loss after allowing six runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings of work.
Dillon Ryan (Sandwich, Mass.) and
DJ Lopes (North Dartmouth, Mass.) ended the contest, with Ryan allowing four runs on five hits in two innings of work. The three Beacons pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts, with Cianciolo tallying five.
