HOW IT HAPPENED

Luke Reid scored the game-winning tally for the Engineers in the 104th minute on an unassisted play.

Before Reid was able to score the deciding tally, Luke Savoie managed to send the contest into overtime with less than four minutes to play in regulation. Savoie, who had an assist on WPI's, netted his first goal of the season off of a Mike Nason assist.

UMass Boston broke the scoreless draw in the 13th minute, when Estevao Gomes netted his first goal of the season. Mike Biando then evened the score at 1-1 in the 36th minute, before the Beacons were able to regain the lead moments before the halftime break.

Nilton de Andrade (Fogo, Cape Verde) make it a 2-1 affair in the 42nd minute as the senior netted his 19th goal of the season.

Throughout the second half, the Beacons defense were able to turn away WPI. However they would take advantage of a miscommunication as Qasim El-Ashkar (Salem, Mass.) tried to stop Savoie at the top of the box. Savoie managed to get around Al-Ashkar to score the equalizer.
