Box Score CASTLETON, Vt. – In their first-ever Little East Conference meeting volleyball cruised to a 3-0 win over Castleton University Friday evening at Glenbrook Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beacons used a combined .321 hitting percentage to ease past the Spartans who officially became the ninth member of the LEC earlier this year. UMB registered a 25-14 win in the first set, followed by a 25-11 win in the second, and a 25-12 win in the third.
Eileen Shi (San Francisco, Calif.) did all the work for the Beacons offense as tallied 15 kills while hitting an impressive .500. Emilia Czapiewska (Saint Paul, Minn.) and Marcelle Tiscareno (El Paso, Texas) each put down nine kills to help aid in the one-sided victory.
Senior Rachel Maslach (Berlin Center, Ohio) made her triumphant return to the Beacons line-up as she notched nine assists, while fellow setter Carsen Komminsk (Worthington, Ohio) finished with a team-high 12 helpers.
Defensively, the Beacons did not have to do too much with Macayla Chianco (Clearwater, Fla.) tallying just eight digs.
