Holy Cross (20-2-0, 12-2-0 NEHC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite a pair of goals from Jenny Currie (Medford, Mass.), the Crusaders managed to get the game-winner with 1:02 left in regulation to steal their 14th home win of the year. Currie got UMass on the board at the 5:36 mark of the first period, with fellow senior Alexandra Karlis (Denver, Colo.) assisting on the play.
Holy Cross answered back just over a minute later to tie the game at 1-1. Currie would then put UMass back out in front at 13:57 when she fired home a pass from Kat Armstrong (Boulder, Colo.) to make it 2-1 going into the first intermission.
Unfortunately the Crusaders would tack on a goal in the second, and the game-winner in the third. UMass Boston definitely had their chances to blow the game wide open, but went 0-for-8 on the power-play, while Holy Cross finished 1-for-3.
