HOW IT HAPPENED

As one of the top scorers in all of Division III, Rezendes was 9-for-13 from the field, which included a pair of 3-pointers, and was 9-for-10 from the charity stripe.  Junior forward Sam Freeman (Boston, Mass.) nearly matched the Corsairs top offensive threat, as he matched his career-high with 21 points in Wednesday's loss.

Senior guard Quadry Allen (White Castle, La.) was just as solid as he dropped in 20 points, after going 6-for-15 from the field, 7-for-8 at the line.

The Beacons also held a +10 advantage on the glass as they outrebounded their conference rival 40-30.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair for the two squads, despite the Corsairs maintaining a slim lead for most of it.  The Beacons went into the halftime break trailing by a mere three points.

After the break, the two squads battled for control of the scoreboard, The Corsairs would continue to hold the Beacons at bay with a slim lead.  Allen would be the driving force behind the Beacons consistent offense in the second half, as he scored all of his 20 points in the final 20 minutes of play, which was a career high for the senior guard.

Off the bench, Maurice Magras (Medford, Mass.) also kept the Beacons in the game as he finished with nine points.  The duo would go 7-for-13 at the charity stripe in a free throw filled half.
