Box Score MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Women's Hockey struggles with conference rival Salve Regina University continued as the Seahawks blanked the Beacons by the final of 5-0 Saturday afternoon at St. George's School Ice Rink in an ECAC East contest.
Five different players recorded a goal in Saturday's contest as the Seahawks improved to 12-6-1, 10-3-0 in the conference. For the Beacons they dropped to 9-9-4, 6-6-2 in the ECAC East.
Sarah Markey and Michelle Holmes not only recorded goals in the 5-0 decision, but they each recorded an assist as well.
For senior Moe Bradley (Swampscott, Mass.) she was handed the loss after surrendering the five goals. On the night, Bradley made a combined 25 saves, while her Salve Regina counterpart Colleen Marcik, picked-up the shutout as she stopped on 33 of the Beacons chances.
Also registering goals in Saturday's contest was Kimberly Spring, Danielle Phalon and Michaela Chiuccariello.
Freshman Jane Morrisette (Pembroke, Mass.) led the Beacons with six shots on goal, while Kat Armstrong (Boulder, Colo.), Jenny Currie (Chelmsford, Mass.), and Alexa Cappione (Massena, N.Y.) were each tied with four.
Women's Hockey returns to action next Friday when they host Holy Cross at 4 p.m.
