Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – Led by Alysha Raimo and Marisa Ketterman the visiting Ravens of Franklin Pierce University defeated women's ice hockey by the final of 7-1 Friday afternoon in the Beacons Ice Arena in an ECAC East contest.
With the loss, UMass has now dropped three-straight, in-which they have also been outscored 17-4. The Beacons are now 9-11-4 on the year, 6-8-2 in the ECAC East. For the Ravens, they matched their program record for wins in a season, as they improved to 18-5-1 overall, 12-4-0 in the conference.
Raimo and Ketterman each recorded a goal in the conference win for the Ravens. Both players also picked-up an assist. Franklin Pierce took control of Friday's contest midway through the first, as they tallied three-goals in two minutes four seconds. After the break, they made it 4-0 with a goal by Brolsma at 3:24 of the period.
Kat Armstrong (Boulder, Colo.) got UMass on the board with her third goal of the year at the 6:45 mark. Senior Kelsey MacIsaac (Durham, N.H.) assisted on the play, as Armstrong fired home a one-time from the point to make it a three-goal game.
Unfortunately, the Ravens would respond with back-to-back goals to regain control of the scoreboard and the momentum. After the second intermission, the Ravens put the final nail in the coffin as Karsyn Baker scored a shorthanded goal at 10:36 of the third period.
Moe Bradley (Swampscott, Mass.) was handed the loss after allowing the first three goals. Kailyn Burke (Franklin, Mass.) closed out the contest, and made 20 stops.
The Ravens outshot the Beacons in two of the three periods, and finished with a 33-23 advantage. UMass outshot Franklin Pierce in the second, 11-7. Franklin Pierce also finished 1-for-3 on the power-play, while the Beacons went 0-for-1.
Women's Hockey will close out their 2014-15 regular season tomorrow afternoon when they host the University of New England at 1 p.m. Prior to the start of the contest, the Beacons will honor their program record 11 seniors.
