HOW IT HAPPENED

The Beacons struck first 12:16 into the game off a goal by Lizzie Aveson (West Covina, Calif.). Kaleigh Beauregard (Detroit, Mich.) started the play by skating into Bowdoin's defensive end towards the left post. Beauregard passed back up ice to Aveson in front of the crease, redirecting the feed to go up 1-0.

Bowdoin evened the game 3:14 into the second period off a solo effort by Maureen Greason. Greason collected the puck along the right boards and lined up a shot that deflected into the air off a loose stick on the ice.

Alli Bianchini (Detroit, Mich.) tallied a power play goal with under three minutes to play in the middle frame getting a favorable deflection off a shot taken above the left circle. The Beacons held a 2-1 lead heading into the second intermission.

Greason tallied her second of the night, converting on the power play, with just over five minutes remaining in the game. Miranda Bell controlled the puck in the center just inside the blue line and fed Kimmy Ganong to her left. Ganong directed the puck on net with Greason tipping it to redirect and score.

Bell gave Bowdoin its only lead of the game with 2:32 remaining off another successful power play. Ariana Bourque collected a pass from Bell near the left post and stepped up to take a shot on net but instead slipped the puck back to Bell moving across the crease for a quick goal.
