Box Score RYE, N.Y. – After two scoreless periods, women's ice hockey and Manhattanville College traded goals over a seven minute span, but in the end it was the Valiants who pulled out the victory as they defeated the Beacons by the final of 3-2 Saturday afternoon in a New England Hockey Conference match-up at the Playland Ice Casino.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Finding the back of the net for the Beacons in the conference loss was seniors Samantha Fallon (Pembroke, Mass.) and Jenny Currie (Chelmsford, Mass.). Between the pipes Casey Schaejbe (Arlington, Mass.) registered 26 stops, as she was handed her second conference loss of the year.
In the third, the Valiants ended the scoreless draw at the 6:21 mark on a goal by Sarah Sinning. Just over two minutes later, Currie evened the contest at 1-1, as she found the back of the net off of a Jane Morrisette (Pembroke, Mass.) and Alli Bianchini (Detroit, Mich.) assist.
Fallon would then put UMass out in front at the 10:01 mark on the power play. Currie and Morrisette were each credited with an assist on the play as the Beacons looked to have control of Saturday's match-up.
However, Kat Reilly would tie the score at 2-2 on the power-play two minutes and 19 seconds after, the Beacons second score. Moments later, Sinning would seal the victory for Manhattanville, as she netted her second goal of the day.
