WALTHAM, Mass.—Brandeis University (4-1) scored two goals within three minutes early in the first half and the Judges cruised to a 3-0 victory over UMass Boston women's soccer (1-2-2) Saturday afternoon at Gordon Field.

Cidney Moscovitch and Holly Szafran scored within a two-minute and 58 second span to give Brandeis a 2-0 lead and Moscovitch added a second goal within the final five minutes, to lead Brandeis to their fourth-straight win.

UMass Boston struggled to get anything going, as the Beacons were outshot 28-3 and shut out for the second time this season.

Junior goalie Kristen Spain (Quincy, Mass.) was busy all afternoon, as she made a season-high eight stops on 11 total shots on goal.

Seniors Krista Ledin (Bridgewater, Mass.) and Amanda Pugliese (Pembroke, Mass.) accounted for the Beacons' three shots, with all three shots on target.

Brandeis goalies Alexis Grossman and Michelle Savuto combined for the Judges' second shutout of the season, with Grossman moving to 3-0, despite not seeing a shot in the first half of play.

Moscovitch got the Judges started at 14:20, when she took a pass from Samantha Schwartz and took a one-timer that snuck by Spain.

Brandeis made it 2-0 at 17:18, as Sapir Edalati sent a brilliant cross from the right side of the box that found the head of Szafran and then the back of the net.

UMass Boston slowed Brandeis' momentum over the next 65 minutes, but couldn't solve Savuto.

Pugliese recorded the Beacons' first shot of the game at the 54-minute mark and Ledin added two shots within the next 20 minutes, but Savuto was up to the task on all three shots. 

Moscovitch ended any chance of a Beacons' comeback at 87:02, when she scored her second goal of the game and of the season, off a pass from Lea McDaniel.
