Junior forward John Arruda (Espirito Santo, Brazil.) has been named this week’s Beacon of the Week for his continued leadership on the pitch as UMass Boston men’s soccer advances to its 11th consecutive Little East Conference postseason tournament.

In Wednesday’s Senior Day victory over UMass Dartmouth, Arruda had a hand in three of the Beacons’ four unanswered goals, scoring twice and adding an assist for his team-leading ninth goal of the season and ninth assist of his career. His performance also solidified his standing as the second-leading goal scorer in the Little East Conference, highlighting his impact as one of the league’s most dangerous offensive threats.

Arruda’s consistency and poise have helped guide the Beacons back to the postseason once again, continuing his reputation as a driving force in the UMass Boston attack.
