Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) competed in two seperate meets over the weekend (4/18-19) at the Eastern Connecticut State University Bonnie Edmonson Classic, and the Yale University Mark Young Classic. She set two new personal records, while tying a 25+ year program record to set top performances on the conference, regional, and national stages in three seperate events. In the 100m dash at ECSU, she finished a single, flat straightaway in a new PR of 12.13s to take first overall at the meet, and to rank first in the Little East Conference. At the Mark Young Invitational, she ran in the 100m hurdles, and the 200m dash, taking gold in both events from a highly competitive meet. She finished first in the 100m hurdles in 13.80s, tying Jackie James' 1989 program record, now ranking first in NCAA Division III in the event. Lastly, Garceau ran one of the fastest 200m times for the Beacons since former Beacon and Olympic runner Wadeline Jonathas. She finished the double-hundred in 24.34s to win gold for her third first-place finish of the weekend, currently ranking first in the conference and DIII New England, while sitting 11th in the nation.
