Women's Cross Country Opens Postseason At LEC Championship Meet

DARTMOUTH, Mass.—Sophomore Charis MacCuish (Easton, Mass.) paced UMass Boston women's cross country at the 2019 Little East Conference Championship Meet on Saturday afternoon. 

THE BASICS

8th out of 8 Teams (229 Points) 

HOW IT HAPPENED

MacCuish finished first amongst the Beacons for the first time all season. The sophomore came across the finish line in a personal best 22:23.25 for a 44th-place finish. 

Sophomore Brianna Steele (Rutland, Mass.) came in just behind McCuish, with a time of 23:05.16. 

The Beacons final three runners all finished within 35 seconds of each other. 

Reagan Czech just barely edged out newcomer Emily Irwin, with the two finishing in 26:10.11 and 26:10.48. 

Junior Ashley Lupo (Burlington, Mass.) closed out the race with a time of 26:44.27. 

WHAT'S NEXT  

The Beacons will close out their season on Saturday November 16, when they compete at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship. This year's meet will be hosted by Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
