Women's Cross Country Opens The Season At UNE Invitational

BIDDEFORD, Maine—UMass Boston women's cross country opened their season Saturday afternoon at the University of New England Invitational. 

THE BASICS

10th out of 11 Teams (295 Points) 

HOW IT HAPPENED

Sophomore Brianna Steele (Rutland, Mass.) followed up her highly successful freshman campaign with a team-best performance on Saturday. 

Steele paced the team with a 48th-place showing, as she finished the 5K in 24:10. 

Newcomer Charis MacCuish (Easton, Mass.) came in second on the team and 107th overall, as the sophomore crossed the finish line in 25:04. 

Freshman Reagan Czeck placed third for the Beacons with a time of 25:43.

Ashley Lupo (Burlington, Mass.), the third new face on this year's roster, was the next Beacon to cross the line. She ended the race in 27:51.

Junior Siobhan Ward (Scituate, Mass.) was the final Beacon to race on Saturday. She closed out the meet with a time of 28:15.

UMass Boston will return to the Bay State, when they race in the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs Invitational on Saturday at 11 a.m.
