Cross-Country Has Solid Showing at Greater Boston Invite

WELLSLEY, Mass. – Led by Jake Kerin and Nicole Sidiropoulos (Carver, Mass.) the UMass Boston men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2012 Greater Boston Cross Country Invitational Sunday afternoon at Elm Park.

Kerin led the men's squad, which finished in third place, with a time of 28:00 to earn a 27th place finish.  For Sidiropoulos, her first meet with the Beacons saw her post a 21st place with a time of 23:13.

For the rest of the men's team, Tad Delaney (Halifax, Mass.) finished in 36th place with a time of 29:58, followed by Tyler Colbert (Groveland, Mass.) with his time of 31:36 (38th).  Jared Layman (Woburn, Mass.) was the next Beacon to cross the finish line with his time of 33:24 (42nd).  Right on his heels for the entire race was Joe Miller (Hull, Mass.), who took 43rd place (34:45) and Chris Chapman (Brockton, Mass.) who took 44th place (36:10).  The final UMass Boston runner to cross the line was Henry Morales (Chelsea, Mass.) with his time of 41:15 (46th). 

On the women's side Ari Leao (New Bedford, Mass.) finished in 25th place with her time of 24:44.  Mari Littleton (Nashua, N.H.) and Michelle Le (Chelsea, Mass.) finished in 27th and 28th place respectively with times of 26:08 and 35:28.

Cross Country returns to action on Sunday, October 7 when they compete in the NEICAAA Championship at Stanley Park in Westfield.
