Pollock and Glavan Earn Conference Player of the Week Honors

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - For the second straight week senior setter Megan Pollock (Wilton, Calif.) and freshman libero Elizabeth Glavan (Edina, Minn.) have been named the Little East Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week respectively.

The duo, who earned their first-ever weekly honors last Monday, played a major part in the Beacons finishing 3-1 including three straight 3-0 victories.  Both players were named to the MIT Quad Invitational All-Tournament team following the Beacons second place finish. 

Pollock continues to lift her game to new levels as the Wilton, California native averaged 8.50 assists and 1.17 service aces per game.  After totaling 18 assists and four aces in the 3-0 blanking of Little East Conference rival UMass Dartmouth, Pollock tallied 25 assists in the next two matches at the MIT Quad Invite.  She first helped the Beacons to a 3-0 win over Rivier University, before taking down Western New England by the same score.  She also finished with five aces in the non-conference win over the Golden Bears.  In the final match of the week, Pollock tallied a week-high 34 assists and dropped in four aces in the 3-1 loss to MIT in the championship match of the invite.   

For Glavan, she was the anchor in the Beacons back row totaling 51 digs in a combined 11 games (5.55 dpg).  The freshman also collected seven aces to help the Beacons to their three straight 3-0 wins.  To start the week off, Glavan totaled four digs and a pair of aces in the quick win over UMass Dartmouth.  In Friday's win over Rivier she put-up 19 digs while also tallying two more aces.  She also posted 14 service receptions with only one receiving error.  On Saturday she recorded 19 digs in the 3-0 win over Western New England and in the 3-1 loss to MIT.  Against the Golden Bears she successfully collected 15 service receptions without being charged for an error.
